Traces of Czech Franciscan Missionary and Pastoral Work among Egyptian and Ethiopian Christians In the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries In the Context of Coeval Book Production

Abstract

This chapter examines the history of Franciscan education, book culture, pastoral or practical theology, and the order's pastoral practice in the missionary landscapes of the Horn of Africa during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. It also brings a descriptive list of relevant manuscripts kept in libraries in the Czech Republic.
