Pottery Finds from the Systematic Field Survey in the Sherabad District, South Uzbekistan - preliminary report

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2012

Abstract

This paper aims to preliminarily classify significant pottery finds, which were gathered during the 2010 and 2011 seasons of the Systematic Field Survey project in Sherabad District, South Uzbekistan. The presented complex was found in open context and its chronology is therefore based entirely on the morphological criteria, and on decoration, color of slip and glaze.

The basic pottery types discussed here introduce the material from different chronological periods encountered during the field survey and they are compared to the datation of the surrounding sites.
