Abstract
This paper deals with options and limits in the research of sport infrastructure at municipal level. Author reacts to adverse situation in the Czech Republic.
There is not any statewide overview of number and quality of sport facilities. The aims of the project are: description of current sport conditions, finding differences between municipalities and definition of typology according to sport infrastructure in municipalities.
The first part of the paper aims to set the problem into the context, next part characterizes existing research in the area of sport infrastructure. Afterwards author reacts to the contemporary trends of the research and clarifies methods, techniques and outlines specific phases of the research.
Cluster analysis will be used for data processing. Author also considers using GIS for illustration of the results.
