The article deals with potential reasons of frequent occurrence of incorrect or inadequate usage of prepositions by non-native speakers of Czech. The article is based on author's experiences.
It outlines the existing problems by pointing out a certain deficiency in description of prepositions in teaching materials, grammar handbooks and dictionary entries. It offers some recommendations for better presentation of prepositions in linguo-didactic practice.
The author believes that following of these recommendations should prevent some currently occurring mistakes.
