Abstract
This article deals with the recent, and substantial, changes in exams organized by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations referred to as "general, academic and for schools". The new names of the exams, the exams for the age category relevant for middle schools, computer-based exams, what is known as "extended certification" and an introduction of the new results verification service are all discussed.
The end of the article is devoted to some possible reasons why candidates may take the exams.
