Roman transport amphora in the collection of the Regional Museum and Gallery in Česká Lípa

Abstract

The Late Roman transport amphora in the collection of the Museum in Česká Lípa is of unknown provenance. It belongs to Late Imperial period; it is near to the variety Spatheion 1, but even more with variety Africaine IIIB, resp.

Keay 25 variety 3, dating from the 4th century AD. The amphora came to Bohemia probably with a private collector.
