Functional Linguistics as the "Science of Poetic Forms": An ABC of the Prague Linguistic Circle's Poetics

Abstract

This chapter discusses the major features of the poetics of the Prague Linguistic Circle. Vichnar shows how the poetic theory of Prague Structuralism grew out of direct engagement with poetic practice, which in turn was informed by contemporary advances in the field of poetics.
