Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the parameters of an aerobic fitness capacity as indicators of the assumptions and compare the different successful teams in terms of their long position in the scoreboard. Monitored groups were composed of a team in the first place (n =16, age = 16.4 +- 0.3 years, body height =178.8 +- 6.4 cm, weight = 70.6+- 8.3 kg) and team in last place (n = 14, age = 16.6 +- 0.4 years, body height =176.1 +- 6.4 cm, weight = 65.6 +- 8.2 kg) in the highest Czech competition category U17.

For an aerobic parameters evaluation Yo-Yo intermittent recovery test (Yo-Yo IRT1) was used. Comparison of results between the groups showed us no significant difference in passing distance between the two teams (p <0.01, d = 1.51).

More successful team completed the distance of 2002.5 +- 331.9 m, while the less successful team 1488.6 m +-369th. A significant difference (p <0.01) was also found in maximum oxygen consumption (VO2max) between the groups when the percentage difference was 8.1%.

Results of the study in terms of aerobic capacity suggest some influence on the success of conditional readiness teams to the location in the table.
