Abstract
Drawing on the "modern philosophies of supplementarity", represented by theorists such as Jacques Derrida, Bernard Stiegler and Louis Armand, the article focuses on a critical discussion of the idea of the body as "confronted by technology" in performances of an Australian visionary artist Stelarc.
