After the basic facts concerning religious violence against the last pagans in the christianized Roman Empire were set forth in the first article of the series, here again, the limits of the persecution are displayed by laying forth examples of variously motivated practical toleration. At the same time, it is being shown that, contrary to what Radomír Malý in his book adduced in the first article takes for granted, any such display of tolerance could perhaps only rarely be seen as motivated by reasons stemming from the true inner Christianity of these practioners of tolerance.
