Abstract
The chapter summarizes the issue of cardiovascular diseases during pregnancy. The introduction describes the physiological changes of cardiovascular system, which occurs during pregnancy, such as increase in heart rate, decrease in systemic vascular resistance and blood pressure changes.
This part is followed by the description of circulatory changes during childbirth. Another section is devoted to examination of the cardiovascular system in pregnancy, assessment of the seriousness of cardiovascular disease in pregnancy and choosing of the method of the birth method.
The main part of the chapter is devoted to a description of specific cardiovascular pathologies during pregnancy and therapy with special emphasis on pharmacotherapy during pregnancy
