Electron Spectrometer-Multipole Trap: First Experimental Results

Abstrakt

We present the construction of the ES-MPT (Electron Spectrometer-MultiPole Trap) apparatus. The experiment consisting of a combination of an RF ion trap with an electron spectrometer is capable of measuring the energy distribution of electrons produced in the trap.

Results of simulations and first experimental tests with monoenergetic electrons from laser photodetachment of O- are presented.
