The paper is approached as a reflection essay on the contemporary opportunities of andragogy within the Czech institutions of tertiary education, emphasizing the perspective of the introduced department. The issue of creating the identity of the field whose nature requires interdisciplinary approach is the central topic of the text.
The contribution of andragogy to social sciences as well as its contribution to the practice (to the professionals dealing with the development of human potential in particular) may be further elaborated on this basis.
