Number of cells in the cerebrospinal fluid, energy relations in the cerebrospinal fluid compartment and intensity of inflammatory response in the central nervous system

Abstract

The intensity of inflammation in CNS was evaluated using the measurement of number of cells, levels of glucose and lactate, together with calculation of glucose quotient and values of the coefficient of energy balance (KEB) in the representative set of cerebrospinal fluid samples of patients suffering from various pathologies of brain (injury, infection, immunopathology) was estimated.
