Catechumenate at present and its historical roots

Publication at Catholic Theological Faculty |
2012

Abstract

Catechumenate, as we celebrate it in the church today, is patterned on historical roots, and it is an answer to the current needs. It should be understood as a process of bringing closer together with the church and with the culture of life according to the gospel, and also as a way to recognition and a way of purification, which leads to the turn to faith.

The catechumenate is completed by the acceptance of the initiations sacraments, but it is also a journey that is not completed but further open.
