Abstract

The open prospective study with patients suffering from chronic plaque psoriasis examined the relationships betweem the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of oral methotrexate duting the remission-induction phase of pharmacotherapy. In particular, the changes in erythrocyte concentrations of methotrexate polyglutamates and blood folates were studied in relation to the improvement in the PASI score od disease severity.

Moreover, the results of individual-tailored therapy with MTX and folic acid were compared with published randomized control studies on methotrexate as well as with the results of psoriasis therapy with biological drugs.
