Abstract
The paper deals with contemporary sociocultural problem of anglicization of the Czech language as well as of communication in the Czech lands. It traces the English influence in spelling, pronunciation, lexicon, and grammar.
It then focuses on the instances of the preference of English as (a more prestigious?) code of communication among Czechs.
