Abstract

We describe here an isolate of VIM-1-producing Leclercia adecarboxylata that was isolated from hands of clinical personal. This study, along with previous reports of antibiotic resistant L. adecarboxylata, shows that this rarely isolated and inherently susceptible species is capable of acquiring and maintaining resistance plasmids.

To our knowledge, this is the first report of an MβL-producing L. adecarboxylata.
