Primary lymphedema is an uncommon disease. It is most frequently manifested by affecting one of the lower extremities; an occurrence of isolated primary non-congenital lymphedema in the upper extremity is enormously rare.

The authors describe the case of a 36-year-old woman with a 9-year history of edema of the right upper extremity, diagnosed with primary lymphedema of the praecox type. This paper describes the diagnostic algorithm of lymphedema and its possible therapeutic solution.
