Abstract
This paper describes the triaxial apparatus with double chamber for testing unsaturated soils and its function. Also presents the results of experiments conducted on two types of soil: clay from the Tertiary of northern Bohemia and residual soil from the capital of Brazil.
With the strength tests shall be documented possibility of applying the principle of effective stress to describe the strength of partially saturated soil. At the isotropic compression tests to demonstrate the effect of suction on the bulk modulus and prosedavost loss of capillary suction of soil saturation.
