Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park

Abstract

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is Australian Aboriginal land. This park is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Area.

The park covers 1326 km2 and it is located near to the centre of Australian continent in the arid nd semi-arid landscape. Uluru (also called Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta are world-renowned rocks made from the arkose sandstone and conglomerate.

Some natural and cultural values of this National Park are mentioned in this paper. Examples of typical landscape, plants and animals (native and alien, too) are described and shown on photos.
