Abstract
The publication Euthanasia - for and against represents a completely unique work. In some sense, it is the embodiment of a disquieting multilayered question of whether one can from his own decision to end his life, and whether a doctor or health professional may assist him at this.
The issues are raised mainly in form of meditations, discussions, as well as specific studies and summaries of leading experts in the field of medicine, ethics and philosophy, law, psychology and theology. In this sense it represents a very remarkable work that gives even to the unbiased observer a possibility of insight in to the depth of the problem.
All contributions are discussing the issue very thoroughly from all possible aspects, and unambiguously and seriously consider all the pros and cons, in spite of that j u st about all contributions and authors meet at one topic and that is respect for human life.
