Abstract
Systemic thrombolytic therapy with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator is a modern recanalization therapy, which significantly improves the outcome of ischemic stroke patients. Treatment sholud be started as soon as possible and must be managed by erudite specialist.
A premise for greater availability of this therapy is an improvement of the organization of both pre-hospital and hospital care, including establishment of a sufficient network of first-rate ictus centers in neurological departments
