Abstract
Glycaemia control is nowadays one of the most discussed topics in intensive care medicine and there is still and ongoing discussion with respect to its overall importance in intensive care patients. Concerns have been raised about both the universality of positive effects of intensive glycaemia control, and especially on its safety in terms of potential damage to patients by episodes of hypoglycaemia.
