Options of continual glycemia monitoring in critically ill patients and treatment of hyperglycemia with the use of insulin algorithms.
Abstract
Our studies did not try to answer the questions of the importance or risks of TGC. We primarily focused on key point of whole TGC concept – on glycaemia control in critically ill patients itself We demonstrated good correlation between arterial and interstitial subcutaneous glukose concentrations in critically ill patients, including patients undergoing deep hypothermia (17°C).
We also demonstrated good effectiveness and satisfactory safety of computer based algorithm using predictive model of glycaemia changes for tight glycaemia control.
