Abstract
Although obstetricians have now fully accepted anaesthesiologists’ opinion to prefer neuroaxial techniques compared to general anaesthesia, the rational for this preference is not generally known and is often mistaken for historical myths. This review article aims to summarize recent scientific arguments on the preference for particular types of anaesthesia for both elective and acute caesa- rean section.
