Commentary to the study [Gastrointestinal tolerability of celecoxib in comparison with NSAID in elderly patients - a pooled analysis of 21 randomized studies]

Abstract

Gastrointestinal toxicity of NSAID is major problem in clinical practice. The risk of gastrointestinal demage increases in elderly patients.

The pooled analysis confirmed significantly better tolerability of celecoxib as compared with non-selective NSAID.
