Abstract

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which belong to Crohn disease (CD), ulcerative colitis (UC) and unclassified colitis (IBDU) are chronic immune-mediated inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract of unknown etiology that is not medically curable. Biological therapy is currently the most effective treatment for these diseases.

These are anti-inflammatory therapy with prompt onset of action, which is usually well tolerated. It is particularly appropriate for patients with high inflammatory activity, do not respond to conventional anti-inflammatory therapy comprising administration of corticosteroids and immunosuppressive drugs or who are intolerant to this therapy.
