Deletion of the long arm but not the 5q31 region of chromosome 5 in myeloid malignancies

Abstrakt

Using molecular cytogenetic techniques, we identified an atypical 5q deletion with retained CDRs in three patients with myeloid diseases. To our knowledge, this is the first report describing 5q14-q23 deletions as the only abnormalities in MDS/AML patients.
