Abstract

The aim of this pilot open label study was to evaluate the effect of 60 Hz STN-DBS on gait and speech in patients with Parkinson disease (PD) as an alternative to high-frequency STN-DBS. We involved 12 PD patients and evaluated the UPDRS before the change in frequency DBS settings and after 10 (8-12) weeks.

We found a significant improvement in gait and speech at 60Hz as compared to high-frequency STN-DBS
