Abstract

Acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) is undoubtedly one of the most successful drugs of the twentieth century. Although it has been used less as an antiflogistic, antipyretic and analgesic in the past decades, ASA still represents the gold standard in the prevention of thrombotic arterial occlusions.
