Abstract

Wegener's granulomatosis (WG) is a systemic necrotizing vasculitis of unknown etiology characterized by the involvement of the upper airways, lungs, and kidneys. Acute massive gastrointestinal bleeding as a manifestation of WG is very rare with only few reports published so far – often with a fatal outcome.

We describe a case of a young woman originally admitted to hospital with renal and upper airway involvement, who later developed a life-threatening lower gastrointestinal bleeding.
