The separation of gastric aspartic proteases using affinity chromatography

Publication

Abstract

This Ph.D. thesis focused on the elaboration of methods for the separation of gastric aspartic proteases. The attention was paid to the preparation of affinity sorbents suitable for the separation of pepsins.

The basic characteristics of the prepared affinity sorbents were determined using the model enzyme (porcine pepsin A) and the characterized sorbents were used for the separation of human pepsin A and pepsin C. The best separation were obtained using N-acetyl-L-phenylalanine-Sepharose.
