Abstract
To ameliorate the communication between physicians, trialists, and better understanding different terms till now used non- consistently for describing the same medical situation or diagnosis, this article brings definitions concerning opportunistic invasive fungal diseases, (prophylaxis -empiric - pre-emptive - targeted therapy) in context with the level of certainty of the diagnosis of IFD (proven - probable - possible IFD) and finally the definitions used for the responses to therapy (complete- partial remission - failure).
