Management of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in 2012

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to summarize the current algorithm of the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The therapy is at present focused not only on optimal diabetes compensation but also on the treatment of accompanying diseases that contribute to the risk of both macro- and microvascular complications.
