Adipose tissue and its hormonal activity: the importance in critical ill patients?

Abstract

Adipose tissue and its hormonal activity are important in critically ill patients. This article summarizes the basic knowledge about the endocrine function of adipose tissue and potential clinical use of modulation of the endocrine function of adipose tissue in critically ill patients.
