Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2012

Abstract

At our Nursing institute the Moodle software is currently used to support First Aid and Patient Care lessons to allow skills training to be more extended and to improve management of Summer Clerkship. E-learning courses were developed as an electronic support of study for medical and dentistry students of English parallel at first.

Each e-course consists of several parts that provide study texts and links to other recommended resources such as articles, tutorials, videos. The learned knowledge is checked by on-line test at the end of each part.

Skills trainings are organized for small groups of students after each part of e-course. At the end of semester e-learning course is used for final testing before practical exam.

The Moodle software is also used to provide all necessary information to complete Summer Clerkship in Patient Care and to allow students to choose the most convenient placement. The experience gained so far from using e-learning for English parallel is going to be extended further in short future as more e-learning courses is planned to be implemented to support study at Nursing institute.
