How can be quality of care successfully measured: an example of good practice from Denmark

Abstract

The article describes the origin, principles and functioning of the Danish National Indicator Project (DNIP), which was established in the Danish Healthcare System in the year 2000. Since then quality standards, indicators and prognostic factors have been further developed.

The quality of care is now measured for ten diseases.
