Up to date position of beta-blockers in management of arterial hypertension

Abstract

Beta-blockers can be still considered suitable for initiation of antihypertensive treatment, as well as for its maintenance as first choice antihypertensive drugs. Beta-blockers are indicated for hypertensive patients with coronary artery disease, chronic heart failure, arrhythmias, glaucoma as well as for pregnant women suffering from cardiovascular disease.
