Our experience with VATS lung resections

Publication

Abstract

Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery combines the advantages of thoracoscopy and open lung biopsy. In a good indication, all thoracic surgery can be done via VATS.

In our experience, VATS can be performed by any performance, but in particular anatomical lung resection should be reserved for experienced surgeons with excellent topographic orientation, delicate and anatomically precise technique. The use of staplers and clips are not required.

In addition to the standard output at one time can also make bilateral VATS procedures, which replace the previous wide exploration of both pleural cavities of sternotomy or lateral thoracotomy. Engineering design is identical to the previous description, only after completing the exercise on the one hand, we change the position and continue in a similar manner to the other.
