Diabetes mellitus is one of the most powerful risk factors. Current medication could, however, improve the outcome of diabetic patients.
The aim o our study was to discover if type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) subjects compensated by metformin, with established statin and ACEI therapy, still have lower WSS in common carotid arteries than healthy controls and if rosiglitazone treatment for 5 months could improve hemodynamic profile of common carotid arteries.
