Abstract
X-rays still play a role in therapy of not only in malignant, but also in benign skin diseases. The authors summarize principles of generation and action of X-rays, especially, concerning application of superficially acting electromagnetic radiation lying in the spectrum between ultraviolet and X-rays, i.e. “Grenz” or “Bucky” rays, in dermatology.
Indication for Grenz ray treatment are, above all, therapy resistant plaques of scalp psoriasis, nail psoriasis, and chronic eczema. Main oncologic indication are mentioned Key words: RTG radiation, RTG therapy, Bucky radiation, Grenz rays.
