Current optical sectioning systems in fluorescence microscopy

Abstract

Optical sectioning in fluorescence microscopy can be achieved by a variety of approaches. Here we give an overview of the state-of-the-art optical sectioning systems currently available in fluorescence microscopy.

Our review covers pinhole-based systems, structured illumination microscopy, and light sheet microscopy.
