Abstract

Sarcoidosis is a serious multisystem disease with cutaneous lesions present approximately in 25 – 50% of patients. The importance of considering cutaneous sarcoidosis in the differential diagnosis of skins lesion is based on possible association with systemic involvement and the convenience of the skin as a source for histologic analysis.

Thanks to outstanding variability of clinical manifestations, sarcoidosis is known as one of the “great imitators,” making it necessary to consider clinical, epidemiological, radiographic, laboratory, and histopathological criteria to establish the diagnosis. The authors present a review of literature and personal experience with diagnostics and treatment.
