Abstract
Selected chapters from cardiovascular surgery is a collection of papers and lectures, that is primarily intended for students and teachers in nursing programs in junior colleges and colleges. This publication is one of many projects sponsored by the city of Prague grants in the year of 2011.
This project was managed as a continuous training sessions, which was at the end elaborated into this publication. This publication is divided into two main areas, that are primarily concerned with cardiovascular surgery and the area of soft skills.
The essential topics are: coronary heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, extracorporeal circulation, wound healing, rehabilitation, and hand hygiene in highly specialized institutions. Furthermore, this publication is devoted to the adaptation process, nursing care, and the organization of work on highly specialized institutions, including the ‘’continuous passing on’’ of good clinical practice.
The document is accompanied by photographs from clinical departments, pictures and illustrations. Revision tests with correct answers are incorporated at the end of each chapter.
