Abstract
The text is concerned with the thought about the european history in the books by Patočka. Patočka reminds the necessity of questioning, inevitability of the dealing with the problemtic nature of the world.
The issue is whether the modern human being is likely to be exposed with this qestionability of the world, which Patočka called the european questioning.
