Histone acetyltransferases PCAF and hGCN5 inhibit activity of the melanocyte-specific microphthalmia-associated transcription factor independent of their acetyltransferase activity
Abstract
Overexpression of PCAF or hGCN5 resulted in inhibition of activity of several MITF responsive promoter-reporters, and siRNA directed to PCAF activated the MITF target melastatin promoter in 501mel melanoma cells.
