Abstract

In our letters we still lack publications interested in long-term consequences of divorce. In worlds publications we find plenty of such papers even though they are not so many as papers interested in short time consequences of divorce.

Consequences of divorce of parents last till adulthood. The consequence is lower level of health, lower well-being and education, emotional problems, less successful relationships, lower income and worse lifestyle.

We have to keep on mind it is so on average. Children respond to the stress connected with divorce differently in accordance to their resilience.

In sum the differences between children from divorced and intact families are statistically significant but small. Even though the differences are in average small the negative consequences hit many children and influence a number of life areas.

So all the time smaller number of stable families represents significant negative factor for the health and well-being of population.
