Abstract

This article discusses pathological intoxication, which is an abnormal response to alcohol indigestion, its most prominent symptom is a qualitative change of consciousness. Diagnosing of this disorder is of essential importance in forensic psychiatry as a crime committed in this condition leads to a statement of irresponsibility.

In this respect the blood level of alcohol is much less important than to find out a psychotic motivation of the offence.
