Aim of this book is to introduce currently very influential psychological theory explaining cultural and social features of cognitive development- so called Stucture Cognitive Modifiability. This is offering detailed description of this theory and its key concepts: Mediated Learning Experience, Cognitive Map and theory of Deficient Cognitive Functions.
This book also enables a reader to understand principles and content of Feuerstein´ Instrument Enrichment- intervention program, which can be understood as a way to apply principles of SCM into the psychological and pedagogical practice. Author of this book is also presenting current outcomes of research that has been done to assess Instrumental enrichment’s effects in practice.
Major focus is given to the research done in Czech Republic.
